ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

We express our appreciation to the Elders and members of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ for permitting the Theological University of America the use of their congregational facilities in holding the proceedings of this graduation ceremony. We also express our appreciation to Dr. Miles Cotham, the pulpit minister for the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ and outstanding educator, and his staff for their efforts in making these proceedings meaningful and memorable.

Welcome to all family members and friends of the graduates who have come to share in this celebration of achievement and advancement. Completing a University education is a major milestone in any person’s life and every graduate here today is deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and love of his family members and friends.

Keynote Address: We are grateful to have Dr. Harry Middleton for the keynote address for the September 2013 graduation ceremony of the Theological University of America.

Dr. Middleton has been in the ministry since 1968. He first preached at Keysburg, Ky, and, since, has preached at Lancaster, Ky., Joywood Church (now Trinity Lane) in Nashville, Hilltop Chapel in Nolensville, Tn. and is now assistant minister at Lebanon Road Church in Nashville. He also has had Gospel radio programs in the Nashville area. . Dr. Middleton has made several short-term mission trips to Romania.

Dr. Middleton received his B.A. from Eastern Kentucky State College (now U.), his masters from MTSU in Murfreesboro, and both his EDS and his Doctor of Education from Tennessee State University.

He has served as principal of elementary schools at Lancaster, Ky. and Rosebank in Nashville and as assistant. principal at Ezell-Harding Christian High School in Antioch, Tn. Dr. Middleton also taught several years in both private and public schools. His wife is Geraldine, who also taught at Ezell-Harding. They have a daughter and son.

Closing Address: We are grateful to have Dr. Daniel H. King for the closing address for the September 2013 graduation ceremony of the Theological University of America.

Dr. King has preached the gospel for 45 years. He has also served as an elder of the church for 9 years. He has held meetings and spoken in lectureships in most of the states of the Union, and has preached in several foreign countries.

Dr. King attended Wayne State University, David Lipscomb College (B.A.), Harding Graduate School of Religion (M.A.), and Vanderbilt University (Ph.D.). He served as an adjunct professor at Tennessee State University in 1976 and at Florida College during 1984-88. He has 16 books currently in print, and has another 3 that are in the works.

He has been married to Donna Jean Chapman King for 45 years. They have two children, both of whom are faithful Christians.

Reception and Decorations: We are grateful for the very kind and thoughtful arrangements that Sister Lois Faircloth has provided for the enjoyment and fellowship of all who participate in the graduation ceremony – graduates, family, friends, and TUA personnel. This is the second TUA graduation ceremony for which Sister Faircloth has generously given her time and effort to make the graduation ceremony a complete occasion of fellowship.
