Dear Brother and Sister in Christ, I personally want to thank you for your interest in the degree programs of the Theological University of America, a university affiliated with the Churches of Christ since 1987. We are very pleased to be able to assist you in completing your educational goals. The Theological University of America is a distance education university providing students the opportunity to complete their degrees off campus without classroom attendance. The Theological University of America enables students to complete their Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees at their own pace in the privacy of their homes and offices off-campus. The Theological University of America grants full credit for credit successfully completed at schools of preaching and Bible institutes, other universities and colleges, and relevant professional and ministerial training and experience and personal development activities. The student has the choice of one or a combination of two degree programs: 1. Validation Degree Program
The fields of study (degree majors and minors) are those normally offered in religious degree programs plus the opportunity for the student to seek a specially designed and unique major or minor field of study developed in consultation with his or her major professor based on the student's interests and background. Among the regular fields of study are: Biblical Studies, Christian Counseling, Church History, Church Growth, Biblical Languages, Ministry, Missions, Homiletics and Preaching, Religious Education, Youth Ministry, Elder Care Ministry, Evangelism, Women's Ministry, Children's Ministry, Adult Ministry, Church Administration and Management, Leadership, and others. Each of these degree programs is discussed in the following pages. We are most happy to talk with you about your educational goals and answer your questions. We welcome your calls and correspondence. You may have already qualified for your Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate
degrees through prior education and experience (Validation Degree
Program). For example, if you have graduated from a brotherhood School
of Preaching or Bible Institute having completed 120 course credits you have
qualified without additional course
work your Bachelor's Degree from the Theological University of America
and, in combination with your ministerial experiences, additional
past educational experiences and your resume, you also may have qualified However, if you need to complete additional courses for your degrees, you may complete those courses through the Traditional Non-Residence Degree Program (traditional courses completed off campus). All of the degree programs of the Theological University of America are designed to provide you the opportunity to earn your degrees through 1. the Validation Degree Program by transfer of credit and evaluation of your prior education, your ministerial and professional learning activities and experience and through completion of any remaining course requirements and 2. the Traditional Non-Residence Degree Program by entering a traditional course curriculum leading to the completion of the credits required for degrees. Your degrees from the Theological University of America can be the cornerstone of your academic recognition and your opportunity for advancement in ministry.
